A car fire led to lane closures on the Grapevine Tuesday afternoon. According to the California Highway Patrol's traffic incident page it happened just before 1:30 p.m. on northbound I-5 at the Grapevine.
By 7:30 p.m. Tuesday all lanes were reopened and traffic was flowing freely.
Caltrans said on Twitter Tuesday afternoon that all but one lane was closed as crews worked to clean up the incident.
Traffic was backed up for several hours, but has since cleared.
KERN COUNTY: Northbound I-5 has been reduced to one lane at the base of the Grapevine due to a big rig fire. Expect delays in the area, approximate 2.5 mile backup currently. No ETO at this time. pic.twitter.com/WxR2cRtc67
