Cavaliers win Cleveland’s first major title since 1964, beating Golden State 93-89 in Game 7.
In a “winner take all” match-up between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, Game 7 of the NBA Finals is expected to go down as an instant classic.
Golden State won a record 73 games during the regular season and had the first ever unanimous MVP in Stephen Curry.
Cleveland has never won an NBA Championship and LeBron James has promised he’ll bring one to The Land.
The Warriors led the series 3-1 after two convincing home victories and Game 4 win in Cleveland, but the tides changed.
Draymond Green received a flagrant foul in the fourth quarter of Game 4, making him pass the limit on technical/flagrant foul points and was suspended for Game 5 of the championship series.
Cleveland won Game 5 at Oracle Arena and beat the Warriors again on their home floor in Game 6, a game that’s forgettable for the Dubs. Curry was ejected for the first time in his career after he fouled out of the game.
Despite every game being won by at least 10 points for both teams, they each have 610 points through the first six games of the series. This is the first time that’s happened in NBA history.
The Warriors will be without big man Andrew Bogut after he hurt his knee at the end of Game 5. He’s out for 6-8 weeks.
Golden State hopes to avoid the biggest collapse in NBA Finals history Sunday night. But if they win, the Warriors will go down in the record books as the best team ever after finishing the regular season with a league record 73 wins. Given this feat, Game 7 is the biggest game in Warriors’ history.
Either way, The Finals finale promises to be a battle between two of the best teams in the league led by the best players in the NBA: Curry and James.
