Officials say the Cedar Fire has now cost $2.5 million as of Friday morning.

The blaze, burning in the Greenhorn Mountains, is covering 9,500 acres and is just 6 percent contained. 

There are currently recommended evacuation orders for Alta Sierra, Slick Rock and Shirley Meadows in Kern County and Portuguese Meadow, Panorama Heights, Poso Park and Sugarloaf Village in Tulare County.

An evacuation center has been established at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wofford Heights.
