Come out and celebrate Mexican Independence Day at tonight's event is put on by the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 
    Truxtun Avenue at Chester Avenue will be blocked for the celebration at the liberty bell that includes food, refreshments, vendor street fair and live entertainment. The event starts at 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tonight's celebration is free and open to the public.
