Bakersfield native and Centennial High School graduate Corbin Burnes got the call to the major leagues on Sunday.
Burnes, a pitcher in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, was called up to the Brewers as Ryan Braun and Manny Pina were placed on the disabled list.
.@Brewers place OF Ryan Braun (back strain), catcher Manny Piña (left biceps strain) on 10-day DL; select contract of RHP Corbin Burnes from Triple-A Colorado Springs; recall INF Nate Orf, catcher Jacob Nottingham from Triple-A.

Despite some early season struggles at AAA in 2018, Burnes sported an ERA of 1.67 last year and is highly touted within the organization.
Corbin Burnes and Jacob Nottingham have lockers in the Brewers clubhouse. Roster moves coming this morning.
Burnes, who recently has been getting his feet wet in relief, is @MLBPipeline’s top Brewers pitching prospect.
