BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Mexican restaurant in central Bakersfield was shut down by the health department Friday due to unsanitary conditions.

Los Tacos De Huicho is located at 123 E 18th Street, off Union Avenue.

According to Kern County Public Health, inspectors found rodent droppings in the back food storage area of the facility.

They also discovered an open container of raw shrimp that was not properly covered, and eggs that were stored above other foods, which inspectors said was a risk for food borne illness.
