Check Before You Burn has officially started.

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District announced the 16th season of the campaign. The campaign aims to reduce the particle pollution caused by residential wood burning by limiting burning during poor air quality days.

Check Before You Burn starts today, November 1, and runs through the end of February.

Daily burn information is available by visiting District's website, calling 1-800-SMOG INFO (766-4463), or by downloading the free "Valley Air" app on your mobile device.
