The China Peak ski resort will be open this weekend after the area got more than a foot of snow overnight.

According to the resort's general manager Tim Cohee, the area was hit with between 14 and 18 inches of snow. He said snow started falling at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. He said China Peak is expecting "significantly more" snow through the weekend.

Cohee said the ski resort will be open Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
