CHP: 80-year-old ran stop sign, was not wearing seat belt in deadly crash on S. Edison Road

The California Highway Patrol says an 80-year-old man ran a stop sign and was not wearing a seat belt during a deadly collision northeast of Lamont.

According to the CHP, 80-year-old Amos Toy was driving south on South Edison Road near Hermosa Road on Monday afternoon. The CHP says Toy ran a posted stop sign and was T-boned. Toy was ejected and died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The CHP is still investigating the crash.
