A man is now being investigated for allegedly running a stolen car ring.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Felipe Moran was taken into custody in January after he allegedly possessed or sold more than two dozen stolen cars.
The CHP says they had been investigating Moran since December. The investigation led them to his home where two stolen Toyotas were found. After further investigation, the CHP found 27 stolen cars linked to Moran totaling about $400,000. The CHP says the majority of the vehicles were Toyotas.
The cars were sold in East Bakersfield at parking lots on Niles Street or Brundage Lane.
