BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month and the National Safety Council estimates that at least 1.6 million crashes are caused each year by drivers using cell phones and texting.

CHP is warning drivers to keep their eyes on the road when driving. Especially during the craze of the Superbloom, it can be tempting to focus on the flowers. Remember that getting a look at the blooms is not worth risking your life or the lives of your loved ones.
