BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: CHP says there is no estimated at this time when the highway will be open.

CHP says it is closing eastbound Highway 58 at Towerline Road due to black ice.

Officials say approximately 40 to 50 cars spun out on black ice.

The closure will remain in place for an hour and half, starting at 11:24 p.m., according to CHP.
