DELHI, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in identifying a Honda Civic and its driver involved in a fatal hit and run.

CHP says on April 13 around 1:06 p.m. units responded to a call of a female lying face down on the grass/dirt shoulder of SR-99 (southbound), just south of South Avenue.

When officials arrived, the female victim, 30-year-old Nicole Stefanie Newbold from Modesto was pronounced dead by Riggs paramedics.

Investigators determined that Newbold was involved in a hit and run collision.

They also discovered a broken passenger side mirror matching a 2006-2009 model Honda Civic. The passenger side mirror has a black outer casing. Officials say it is also possible that the Honda Civic has damage to the passenger side windshield and/or passenger side “A” pillar.
