The Coroner's Office has identified the man who passed away during a traffic accident last Thursday in northwest Bakersfield

Robert Leon Sills, 62, died from his injuries after his truck crashed with a Varner Brothers truck on Snow Road an Golden State Highway last Thursday around 3 p.m.

CHP said Sills stopped at the stop sign while traveling northbound on Snow Road approaching Golden State, but for an unknown reason, reportedly pulled in the path of the trash truck who was driving southbound on Golden State Highway approaching Snow Road. 

CHP said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, and the driver of the Varner Brothers truck was cooperative while officers investigated.
