The California Highway Patrol says alcohol may have been a factor in a car crash that sent a 21-year-old to the hospital.

On Wednesday, the 21-year-old, who has not been identified, was driving north on Interstate 5 just before 6 a.m. when the car left the road, hit a barbed wire fence and rolled multiple times near Grapevine Road. 

The driver was ejected and taken to Kern Medical to be treated for major injuries.
