The California Highway Patrol is looking for the person who was behind the wheel of a hit-and-run on Highway 178 over the weekend.
According to the CHP, Bakersfield Police showed up to the scene of Eastbound Highway 178 just east of Morning Drive on Saturday night.
CHP says a person was laying on the ground while another person was trying to flag down help.
The person on the ground was suffering major head trauma. He's been identified as 19-year-old David Crum of Springville.
The person with Crum said Crum was hit by a light-colored sedan that left the scene.
The CHP has not been able to locate the driver of the car that hit Crum.
