CHP says the scheduled checkpoint will take place "somewhere within the unincorporated area of Kern County" on May 11 between 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. During these hours officials will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers for proper licensing.
In the news release, Captain Loetscher said:
Our objective is to send a clear message to those individuals that consider mixing alcohol or drugs and driving. The CHP will be keeping a close eye out for you.
