CHP: Driver arrested after crashing vehicle into front yard of East Bakersfield home Sunday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: A California Highway Patrol unit on scene confirmed that the driver has been arrested and that alcohol played a factor in the incident.

One person is injured after a vehicle crashed into the front yard of an East Bakersfield home Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP traffic incident website, the collision occurred near Culver Street and Sterling Road at 3:36 p.m.

The website shows that one person sustained injuries to their leg and that the collision is being investigated as a hit-and-run.

It is unclear if the injured person is a resident at the home or the driver of the vehicle struck.

CHP has not confirmed a description of the vehicle.
