BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you take the southbound lanes of Wible Road to get to work, you might want to think of an alternate route starting on Monday. The City of Bakersfield announced that the road would be closed from Belle Terrace to Ming Avenue.
The closure, which begins Monday, October 21st and run through Wednesday, October 23rd, will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m each day. Southbound vehicles will be detoured onto Belle Terrace to H Street and then south on Ming Avenue before returning to Wible Road. Northbound Wible Road will not be affected by the closure.
The closure is to allow crews to remove "shoring used for retaining wall construction."
The City of Bakersfield asks drivers to slow down while driving in construction areas and to be aware of workers.
