The City of Bakersfield continues to crack down on marijuana dispensaries across town.
Since May, the city attorney's office has written 139 letters to marijuana shop operators and owners. 108 of those shops have been closed. Another eight are scheduled to close by January.
Nearly 23 dispensaries are still open and are going to be the focus of future closures after the city decided against any marijuana cultivation or distribution within city limits.
