Pedestrian struck by car in Northeast Bakersfield on Saturday dies

UPDATE: The woman who was struck by a vehicle on Saturday in northeast Bakersfield has died from her injuries according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

UPDATE: The woman who was struck by a vehicle on Saturday in northeast Bakersfield has died from her injuries according to the Bakersfield Police Department.


According to Bakersfield Police a vehicle collision in Northeast Bakersfield left one pedestrian in critical condition just before midnight Saturday.

Officers said they responded to the intersection of Columbus and Loyola where they located a female pedestrian with major injuries.

The driver remained at the scene while the pedestrian was taken to the hospital and police shut down the area according to officials.

Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the incident, but anyone with information is asked to contact BPD at 661-327-7111
