The annual family-friendly Color Me Rad 5K race is taking place Saturday, February 25, at the Kern County Fairgrounds. 

During the "race," participants are doused in bright colors as they navigate the course. The race kicks off at 9 a.m.

Event planners suggest all participants wear white from head to toe. 

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House when participants register with the code "BRMH."

The Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House will receive $5 per registration. 

The race is not a competition, it's just meant to give participants a chance to get outside, get colorful and have fun. 

23ABC's Jessica Harrington will live during the 6a.m. & 8a.m. show Saturday and will live stream as she takes part in the race on her Facebook page as well as the 23ABC Facebook page.
