On Friday night a protest was held in front of the Bakersfield Police Department to honor the life of George Floyd who lost his life after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chavin held his knee on Floyd's neck for over 8 minutes. That incident sparked protests across the country.

The protest in Bakersfield last night filled an entire block and throughout the downtown area well into midnight. Now community leaders are responding.
