The Bakersfield Condors hockey team, Community Action Partnership of Kern Food Bank (CAPK Food Bank) and Rabobank are spearheading a two-week food drive to support local individuals and families in need.
The drive’s proceeds will help to replenish the CAPK Food Bank’s inventory prior to the 2016 holiday season.

From Tuesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 21, members of the community are invited to donate two non-perishable, non-expired food items at a local Rabobank branch. For every two food items, a coupon will be provided for a free hot dog at the Condors’ opening night, pre-game event at Rabobank Arena’s Centennial Plaza Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.
“Working together with our players, staff, Rabobank employees and the community as a whole, we can make a real difference in fighting hunger as we near the holiday season," said Kevin Bartl, vice president of communications for the Bakersfield Condors.
There is no limit on the number of coupons that can be collected during the two-week food drive. The plaza’s pre-game event is free of charge.
Collection times are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rabobank drop-off locations include:
