It's a story 23ABC News brought you Wednesday. After speaking with the family, we can confirm 23-year old Dallas Peterman was the person killed on Highway 395 near Ridgecrest. 

Dallas Peterman was a nationwide traveler who hitchhiked to different parts of the country and documented it through social media for his followers. 

According to CHP, a tractor-trailer was headed south on the 395 around 8pm and Peterman was walking on the shoulder. 

Officials say Peterman stepped into the road and in front of the driver. Peterman was pronounced dead at the scene. 

CHP is still currently investigating the case. 

As for his followers, many are taking to social media to give their condolences to the family.
