Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy is feeling optimistic after meeting with Donald Trump to discuss the future of the United States.
"Donald Trump was not my first choice, but I always said I would support the nominee," McCarthy said.
"Why? Because the people make the decision at the end of the day. I believe in that form of government. Government doesn't have the power, the people do."
McCarthy said they talked about his concerns about the party and country, from the Supreme Court vacancy to national economic growth and California-specific problems like the drought.
"I believe he will be there for us on the water discussion and other discussions as well."
