Congressman McCarthy leading security task force

Posted

Congressman Kevin McCarthy is leading a task force, pushing national security bills through Congress after terror attacks stateside and abroad.

After the Paris terror attacks, Congressman McCarthy created a task force with Reps. Michael McCaul of Homeland Security, Mac Thornberry of Armed Services, Robert W. Goodlatte of Judiciary, Devin Nunes of Intelligence, Ed Royce of Foreign Affairs and Harold Rogers of Appropriations.

The majority leader says Congress has passed six bills regarding the safety of our nation and travel regulations as a result of the task force. He's currently working on a bill right now that would create a report card system to grade the security of foreign airports.

McCarthy stressed that terrorism can happen anywhere, citing the San Bernardino shootings and the threat at Valley Baptist Church as homegrown terrorism.
