WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman TJ Cox voted to re-open the US Department of Agriculture and provide relief to the thousands of valley farmers affected by the government shutdown.
Cox released a statement on the vote.
“I’m proud to have voted today to reopen the US Department of Agriculture and give the Central Valley’s farmers and ranchers the relief they need. Our farmers and ranchers need stability and security – not more trade wars and shutdowns that threaten their crops, families, and livelihoods. The Senate has already voted unanimously to approve this funding, and I hope that they and the President do right by our farmers and vote again to approve this commonsense measure.”
