Congressman Valadao responds to President Trump's comments on birthright citizenship

Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) responded to President Trump's statement that he hopes he can end birthright citizenship in the United States with an executive order, according to an interview with Axios.

In a statement, Congressman Valadao said that he believes "it is important to uphold the will of our nation's Founding Fathers and of the United States' Constitution."

The Fourteenth Amendment clearly states that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."  I believe it is important to uphold the will of our nation’s Founding Fathers and of the United States’ Constitution.
