BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — New construction work hours at Bakersfield College's Memorial Stadium are set to begin Wednesday night to help workers avoid extreme heat.

Workers installing artificial turf and replacing the track at the stadium are set to work from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. throughout the month of August. The City of Bakersfield has approved this project saying it does not violate any noise ordinances. Stadium lights will remain on during these new work hours.

Construction will be completed in time for the upcoming season.
