BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Convicted child rapist Jesus Huape Fuentes was sentenced to 105 years-to-life, the District Attorney's office announced today.

Judge Charles Brehmer sentenced Huape Fuentes to several consecutive terms for his crimes.

In January, Huape Fuentes was convicted on six felony counts -- including continuous sexual abuse of a child and rape by force or fear. The jury also found the crimes involved multiple victims and that one victim was kidnapped for the purpose of rape.

The jury, however, was hung on one count of sex or sodomy with a child 10-years-old or younger.

When the verdicts were announced in January, District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said, "All victims of sexual assault should know that our Victim's Services Unit is here to help survivors of sexual assault, and our prosecutors are dedicated to holding sexual predators accountable for their crimes.
