Coroner: 22-year-old man died from a gunshot wound to the head, death ruled a homicide

ARVIN, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner has ruled that a 22-year-old man died from a gunshot wound to the head after a shooting in Arvin.

According to the Arvin Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Haven Drive near Santa Rosa Street around midnight on February 22 for shots fired. When officers arrived, they found two Hispanic men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Arvin PD says 22-year-old Antonio Lopez of Arvin was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner has determined that Lopez died from a gunshot wound to the head. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The second man was taken to Kern Medical, where he was later pronunced dead.
