DELANO, Calif. — According to the Kern County coroner a 9-month-old baby accidentally drowned in a bathtub at a Delano home Tuesday night.

Officials say they responded to the home in the 300 block of Garces Highway around 8:26 p.m. where a 9-month-old was found unresponsive inside a bathtub. He was taken to Delano Regional Medical Center where he later died.

A postmortem examination determined his cause of death was a drowning and the manner of the death was as an accident.
