The Kern County Coroner has identified one of the two men involved in a shooting in Taft on September 19.

Officials say that at approximately 10:30 p.m., 33-year-old Jose De Jesus Ramirez was shot by another person near 700 B Street in Taft and declared deceased at the scene. It was determined that the cause of death is a gunshot wound of the neck and the manner is homicide.
