BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County coroner identified 43-year-old Sarah Anne Meyers as the body found in a canal on California Avenue last month.

Officials said they received a call around 7:15 a.m. on August 22 that a body was in the water just north of California Avenue and east of P Street.

According to the coroner, Meyers cause of death is drowning with contributing factors.
