BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The coroner identified a man who died after colliding with a utility pole off Highway 99 and Lerdo Highway Sunday morning as Morgan Patrick Herbst of Madera.
According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Herbst, 43, drifted off Northbound Highway 99 just South of Lerdo Highway an crashed. According to a release for KCSO, he was taken to the Kern Medical Emergency Room where he died from his injuries.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to determine cause and manner of death.
