BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner has identified the victim of an accidental shooting death on December 14 in South Bakersfield.

According to deputies, 21-year-old Victor Manuel Hidalgo III was shot near 4200 Kenny Street at approximately 9:40 p.m. He was then transported to Kern Medical where he died on December 16 at approximately 1:35 p.m.

A postmortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was an accident.
