BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner has determined that a 38-year-old man that was found unresponsive in Northwest Bakersfield died due to a heat stroke.
According to officials, Alfredo Zavaleta Jr. was found outside of his car near Shellabarger Road and Pepita Way on June 5. He was reportedly taken to Mercy Southwest where he died the next day around 12:15 a.m.
A postmortem examination was performed and Zavaleta's cause of death was a heat stroke and the manner is an accident.
