Coroners ID's man killed in Panama Lane crash

Officials with the Kern County Coroner's official released the name of the man killed in Saturday's crash on Panama Lane and Colony St.

Officials identified the man  as 19-year-old Jade Marley Flores of Shafter.

Flores was the passenger in a vehicle struck by another vehicle.

He was transported to KMC and pronounced dead at KMC.

An autopsy will be scheduled to determine cause and manner of death.  

According to BPD, The driver of one of the involved parties was identified as 27-year-old Huriel Machuca. It was determined that Machuca was driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for felony DUI. The intersection of Panama Lane and Colony Street is closed due to the investigation.
