The Kern County Sheriff's Command Association has agreed to accept a contract off from the Kern County Board of Supervisors.

On Thursday morning, Kern County Administrative Officer Ryan Alsop tweeted that the association agreed to the deal that would make its members "the highest paid local law enforcement officers in Kern County."

Alsop said the association voted on the deal and accepted it this week.

The item will be on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Aug. 13. Alsop said it is being recommended that supervisors approve the deal. If approved, it would go into effect immediately, Alsop said.
