According to court documents, on January 31, one of the 15-year-old victim's sisters was in the hospital. That night, the father offered alcohol to the 15-year-old girl and her 13-year-old sister. The 13-year-old said no, but the 15-year-old said okay.

According to court documents, the 15-year-old told police she did not know how much she drank. The victim says her dad wanted her to drink "a lot." On February 1, the victim says she was not wearing pants when she woke up. The victim also told police she had pain when she went to the bathroom and noticed blood. Later on, her father allegedly told her that she had thrown up on herself and his bed.

On February 27, according to court documents, the father was upset because his girlfriend broke up with him. When the 15-year-old victim went to check on him, the father was allegedly drinking in his room. The victim sat next to her father when he allegedly grabbed her breast. Court documents state the victim got up and left. Later on, the father allegedly told the victim they had sex the night they got drunk in January.

On March 2, the victim went to High Desert Hospital in San Bernardino County and told a nurse that her father had raped her.

Three days earlier, KCSO had responded to the father at his home after family remembers reported the father was suicidal. The father allegedly had a gun to his head, but family members were able to get the gun away from him. The father was placed on a psychiatric hold and the gun was seized.

Court documents show on that same day, the victim told her sister about the rape.
