BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash, just south of the Grapevine, on southbound I-5, that caused a diesel fuel spill onto the roadway, just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to the CHP'S Traffic Incident page, a vehicle attempted to pass a semi-truck, when it collided with possibly two semis.
At least 55 gallons of diesel fuel has spilled on and off the roadway, according to the page.
A road closure is expected for southbound I-5, lanes 2, 3 and 4, for a period of time, says CHP.
