Crews are battling a grass fire at the intersection of Highway 65 and Sherwood Avenue in McFarland. 

According to the Kern County Fire Department, the fire has burned about 50 acres and 30 firefighters are currently on scene. 

No word if the grass fire has threatened any homes.
