(KERO) — Crews continue to get a hold of the fire burning along Interstate 5 just south of Gorman.

CAL FIRE reports that the blaze is now 65 percent contained and covers a thousand acres.

The fire started on Independence Day and quickly burned through a thousand acres by 8 p.m. that same evening.

No word yet on what sparked the blaze.
