BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The CSU Bakersfield assistant baseball coach was involved in a serious car crash, according to CSU Bakersfield.

CSU Bakersfield Director of Athletics Ziggy Siegfried issued a statement saying Coach Steve Farrington was involved in a crash yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon our Assistant Baseball Coach Steve Farrington was involved in a very serious car accident. Coach Farrington is a very special person in our baseball program and Athletics Department. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers right now. I would like to thank the Fresno State Athletics Department, including Athletics Director Terry Tumey and Head Baseball Coach Mike Batesole for their support during this time.

According to CSU Bakersfield, the crash did not happen in Bakersfield. No word on Coach Farrington's condition at this time.

The CSU Bakersfield baseball team was scheduled to take on Fresno State today. The game has been canceled.
