BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The NCAA today released its full Academic Process Rate report for Division I student-athletes for the 2018-19 school year.
One week ago, the Roadrunners learned that the indoor and beach volleyball teams ranked among elite company.
For the fourth-straight year, the two CSUB teams posted perfect APR scores and, thus, ranked in the Top 10% in the nation for their respective sports.
"Our coaches and scholar-athletes take a lot of pride in academic excellence," said Dr. Kenneth "Ziggy" Siegfried, director of Athletics at CSUB. "What an accomplishment for our volleyball and beach volleyball programs to be ranked in the top 10% in the nation for their Academic Progress Rate."
Nationwide, Division I student-athletes continue to achieve classroom success at record-high levels, earning an overall multiyear Academic Progress Rate of 983 for the third consecutive year.
Since the Division I membership created the Academic Performance Program 15 years ago, more than 18,750 former student-athletes have earned APR points for their prior teams by returning to college and earning a degree after their eligibility expired.
Of those, more than half (9,621) competed in football, baseball or basketball.
