Cal State Bakersfield held a grand opening for the campus's new food pantry on Monday.
The university said 1 in 10 California State University students experience homelessness and that 1 in 5 experience food insecurity.
The food pantry at CSUB will help students who experience food insecurity to stay focused on their studies, and not worry where their next meal will come from, CSUB said.
The food pantry will be open Monday through Friday, and is open to students, faculty and staff.
