California State University, Bakersfield Professor Jianjun Wang has been named a recipient of the California State University Faculty Innovation & Leadership Award for his work in implementing innovative practices that significantly improve student success.

Dr. Wang, who has been a faculty member at CSUB since 1993, in one of 26 faculty members in the CSU system to receive the recognition.

Dr. Wang said that he is extremely honored and humbled by the recognition.

“I am grateful to many colleagues for mentoring and supporting my professional growth across the fields of teaching, research, and service," Dr. Wang said. "I am also thankful to our campus leadership for attaching great importance to offering quality and affordable higher education for our well-deserving students.”

As part of the recognition, Dr. Wang will receive a $5,000 cash award and $10,000 will be allocated to his academic department to support ongoing innovation and leadership to advance student success.
