Roadrunner fan, the coaches have submitted their votes and the tallies show Cal State Bakersfield is expected to finish third this season in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Also two Roadrunners were selected to the all-conference preseason team.

The WAC coaches picked New Mexico State as this year's favorites, followed by University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and CSUB. NM State received six out of nine first place votes, while UT Rio Grande Valley received the other three first place votes. Rounding out the conference projection is Utah Valley, Kansas City, Grand Canyon, Seattle University, California Baptist and Chicago State.

Also receiving preseason accolades are senior outside hitter Briannah Mariner and sophomore outside hitter Desiree Sukhov. Both Mariner and Sukhov made the 14-player preseason All-WAC Team. Only NM State and UTRGV had more players on the all-conference squad with three each.
