CSUB held an investiture ceremony for the new university president, Dr. Lynette Zelezny.

Hundreds came for the ceremony which opened up with Bakersfield High School District's mariachi band.

Congressman Kevin McCarthy and Mayor Karen Goh were some of the opening speakers of the ceremony.

"She has a lot of ideas and believes in the future for our students," Jennifer Burger, CSUB faculty.

Dr. Zelezny will be the fifth president of the university as well as the first female president.
